East Rock West Rock/New Haven Music Week

Academy's most ambitious project yet was the developing of East Rock West Rock: New Haven's Music Week. In under 6 months Academy created and brought to life an annual music festival that will join the ranks of other prominent music festivals in the years to come. October 9-18th 2009 the first East Rock West Rock: New Haven Music Week, took place in New Haven CT. ERWR was created to bring original music back into venues, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants of New Haven. The goal was to also generate business in the city. In first year ERWR hosted 140+ bands in over 20 venues during the 9 days making it the largest music festival in New England. Sponsors for ERWR 2009 were Budweiser, SKYY Vodka, Pocket Wireless, Academy Printwear, New Haven Advocate, Guitar Center, One of Twenty, KC 101, Radio 104, and Ultra Radio. Some acts hosted throughout the week included: as platinum artists Eve 6, Mike Posner (J records), Big Sean (Good Music), Colin Munroe (Universal Motown), and New Found Glory (Epitaph Records). Academy is already in the works of developing ERWR 2010.
