Artwork Specifications & File Requirements
We accept artwork in either pixel based or vector based format, a scanned image or your idea, that with the help of our graphic design team, can come to life.
Pixel Based
Photographic Art (or Photo Realistic Design) is Art that incorporates scanned in imagery, or art that is built in a pixel based program such as Photoshop. Common file extensions for such files are .psd, .tif, .jpg (jpeg), .gif & .png. In order to reproduce correctly, we require that your image be set to your desired print size at 300 dpi. Delete any unused layers and keep seperate print colors on seperate layers.
Vector Art
Vector Art is art that is built (actually drawn) in a vector or object based program such as Adobe Illustrator and ends in .ai or .eps. If your designer is able to send you the file please have them convert it to curves prior to sending. This will avoid any problems with fonts not matching our graphic fonts. Please have the graphic sized or at least noted when sending the file
Scanned Art
This would be if you took a scanned image from a drawing, yellow pages, newspaper ads, business cards, letterhead, or photocopies. We may be able to work with this type of art, but we would need to review it and let you know.
Concept Art
If you only have a rough sketch or concept we will be able to help you make your vision a reality. We will have our graphic design team draw up ideas for you to come up with what you are looking for. This graphic design fee is $30/hr. and once the artwork is complete we would be able to use it for your screen printing project.
Complex Jobs
We are happy to take on your complex job! Understand however, there may be an upcharge if your job is complex.
Excessive Revisions
Academy Printwear reserves the right to apply an art charge for excessive revisions.
If you are not sure which format your artwork is in or have any questions regarding these requirements please contact us at 1-888-489-APAP so that we may assist you.
